The Computer Curriculum Corporation CAI Lab
Second to fifth grade students come to the Atari Computer Lab 4 to 5 days a week for 25 minutes of intensive reading, math, or science lessons. Daily records can be printed out to show each student's progress and the computer adjusts each day's lesson to reflect these changes. Although there are no Spanish language programs, early math levels combine ELD with math concepts to help students learn English. Transition students are able to begin English reading with reading readiness programs. GATE (gifted) students are challenged by programs which are at middle school level and all students are recognized for their individual achievement. The 32 Atari computers are networked to a printer which also allows classes to come in for longer blocks of time for word processing and also for Atari LOGO sessions.
