    Welcome to Loma Alta Elementary School. Nestled against the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, our campus is located in the quiet community of Altadena. This serene setting provides a suitable backdrop for a campus constantly bustling with activity. Loma Alta serves a diverse student population from both the Altadena and Pasadena communities. Approximately 500 students attend Loma Alta school in grades Pre-Kindergarten through six. Our school community includes two Special Day classes and a Full Inclusion Pre-Kindergarten class. We provide students at Loma Alta with a challenging and meaningful educational program. Through a student centered approach to learning, we strive to motivate students to reach their fullest potential. Our goal is to guide students in experiencing the value of diversity and the power of knowledge by instilling in them the desire to be life long learners.     Loma Alta is unique in it's setting. Located high above the Los Angeles basin, Loma Alta is rich in scenery. The campus itself is laid out.so that each classroom has a patio for outside activities. The parents have been instrumental in improving the site and continue to maintain a high level of interest in the campus. The classrooms are spacious and supplied with cupboards and sinks. The windows allow for views of the mountains and of the changing seasons.
